Adverb কাকে বলে?
Adverb হল এমন word যা বাক্যে Noun বা Pronoun ছাড়া যে কোন Part of Speech-কে অথবা একটি গোটা বাক্যকে modify বা বিশেষত করতে পারে। যেমন:
- I like ice cream. (আমি আইসক্রিম পছন্দ করি)
এখানে I হল Subject, Like হল Verb এবং ice cream হল Objective, এর থেকে বোঝা যায় Adverb-এর ব্যবহার ছাড়া Sentence তৈরি করা যায়।
- I really like ice cream. (আমি সত্যিই আইসক্রিম পছন্দ করি)
এখানে really হল Adverb.
Adverb কত প্রকার ও কি কি?
Adverb (বিশেষণ)-কে প্রধানত তিনটি ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়েছে,
- Simple Adverb
- Relative Adverb

Adverb of Time কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
কখন, কতক্ষণ বা কতবার কোনো কাজ সম্পন্ন হয় তা বোঝাতে Adverb of Time ব্যবহার করা হয়। এই Adverb-গুলি হল-Now, then, before, since, ago, already, always, seldom, often, once, twice, thrice, again, soon, late, afterwards, yesterday, today, tomorrow, daily, early, formerly, frequently, presently, immediately, after, during, instantly ইত্যাদি.
Examples of Adverb of Time:
- I have an appointment today.
- We often go hiking on weekends.
- I frequently visit the local library.
Adverb of Place কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
কাজটি কোথায় হচ্ছে বা কোথা থেকে হচ্ছে বোঝাতে Adverb of Place ব্যবহার করা হয়। এই Adverb-গুলি হল- Here, there, hither, thither, hence, thence, far, near, nearby, away, abroad, ahead, overhead, inland, locally, universally ইত্যাদি।
Examples of Adverb of Place:
- He is standing here.
- They built a house nearby.
Adverb of Manner কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
কীভাবে কোনো কাজ সম্পন্ন হয় তা বোঝাতে Adverb of Manner ব্যবহার হয়। এ ধরনের Adverb-গুলি হল- Clearly, fast, closely, correctly, bravely, badly, sadly, softly, steadily, slowly, soundly, swiftly, simply, suddenly, carefully, carelessly, easily, quickly, possibly, probably, luckily, fortunately, unfortunately, naturally, rightly, urgently, wrongly, widely, thus, well ইত্যাদি।
Examples of Adverb of Manner:
- She ran quickly.
- He spoke Softly.
- Slowly she picked up the knife.
Adverb of Degree কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
কোনো কাজ কতটা বা কী পরিমাণ সম্পন্ন হয় তা বোঝাতে Adverb of Degree ব্যবহার হয়। এ ধরনের Adverb-গুলি হল-Almost, quite, very, much, fully, partly, wholly, completely, strongly, totally, entirely, deeply, greatly, poorly, half, enough, somewhat, altogether, too, little, a little, rather ইত্যাদি।
Examples of Adverb of Degree:
- She is quite happy.
- The fruit is almost ripe.
Adverb of Reason or Purpose কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
কোনো কাজের কারণ বা উদ্দেশ্য বোঝাতে Adverb of Reason or Purpose এর ব্যবহার হয়। এ ধরনের Adverb-গুলি হল-Hence, therefore, so, so that ইত্যাদি।
Examples of Adverb of Reason or Purpose:
- We need to save money so that we can go on vacation.
- I didn’t study for the test; therefore, I failed.
- It’s been so long since I’ve seen her.
Adverb of Affirmation and Negation কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
হ্যাঁ-বাচক বা না-বাচক শব্দ Adverb রূপে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। এ ধরনের Adverb-গুলি হল yes, truly, definitely, not, never ইত্যাদি। তবে ‘no’ Adverb নয়।
Examples of Adverb of Affirmation and Negation:
- She never forgets her keys.
- She expresses her opinions definitely.
Intensifiers Adverb কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
যে Adverb-গুলি Verb-এর কাজের উপর বিশেষভাবে জোর দেয়, সেগুলিকে Intensifier বলে। যেমন-actually, certainly, surely, definitiely, really, absolutely, thoroughly, utterly, very much, indeed ইত্যাদি।
Examples of Intensifiers Adverb:
- She was so upset.
- I felt extremely sorry for her.
- The delegation is very late.
Downtoners Adverb কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
যে Adverb-গুলি Verb, Adjective বা অন্য কোনো Adverb-এর গুরুত্ব কমিয়ে দেয়, সেগুলিকে downtoners Adverb বলে। যেমন-hardly, barely, scarcely, nearly, rather ইত্যাদি।
Examples of Downtoners Adverb:
- I can hardly see it.
- This soup is rather hot.
Relative Adverb কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
যে Adverb দুটি বাক্যকে যুক্ত করে এবং তার উক্ত বা অনুক্ত Antecedent বা পূর্ববর্তী word-এর সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক বুঝিয়ে দেয় সেই শব্দকে Relative Adverb বলে।
Relative Adverb-এর Antecedent না থাকলে তাকে Conjunctive Adverb বলে।
Relative Adverb-গুলি হল where, when, why এবং how; এগুলি বাক্যের মাঝে বসে, কখনোই বাক্যের গোড়ায় বসে না।
Some Examples of Relative Adverbs:
- I don’t know the reason why she changed her mind.
- That’s the place where I saw him last.
- I don’t know the date when the project is due.
Interrogative Adverb কাকে বলে? উদাহরণ?
প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করতে যে সমস্ত Adverb ব্যবহার হয়, সেগুলিকে Interrogative Adverb বলে। Interrogative Adverb গুলি হল where, when, why, how, how many, how much, how often, how far, how long etc.
Who, whose, whom, which এবং what এগুলি হল Interrogative Pronoun.
Examples of Interrogative Adverbs:
- When is the party?
- Where is your house?
- How often do you work out?
- Why did you do that?
